The CERMI claims the approval of the new frame of indemnifications for traffic victims

The Representatives’ Spanish Committee of Persons with Disability has claimed to the Government that hastens the approval of the new legal frame on economic indemnifications to the victims of traffic accidents.

These indemnifications, which are very lower in quantity than the existing ones in other European countries, are not checked from 1995 and, according to the Cermi, the State limits itself to updating them in accordance with the inflation. This means that these compensations do not manage to repair the economic effects of all kinds that the accident represents for victims and their familiy.

The Representatives’ Spanish Committee of Persons with Disability remembers that the District attorney’s office of Security has indicated the insufficiency of the current scale of indemnifications, for what coincidence exists in raising a complete review of these tables, in order that they approach the current needs of the victims.

First of all, the Cermi claims that the new compensation will be “worthy and sufficient”, but it will be orientated “to giving coverage and support of all kinds to the victim in order that it could rejoin actively to the life in community, promoting to the maximum his personal autonomy”.
